In 2015, the Play Garden planned for Alice Carter Place received a certificate of appropriateness from the Meridian Street Preservation Commission for a fenced playground and associated play apparatus at the park. The project had to be modified slightly to accommodate Citizens Energy Group, which has a combined sewer lift station on site. Features include a play castle made of real brick and limestone in an architectural style complementary to the neighborhood; a story circle gazebo constructed with metal lattice; and a wave fence to enclose the garden and provide safety and security for kids.
