The Indianapolis Opera has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to affirm and expand its commitment to Central Indiana audiences and partners by securing the Basile Opera Center, 4011 N. Pennsylvania, as a permanent and sustainable part of IO’s future.
The vision is to create a home for arts, culture, and community, that serves as a hub of creative activity in the heart of Midtown Indy. Flexible rehearsal, performance, and event spaces will sit alongside classroom, studio, and administrative facilities in the vibrant and inviting atmosphere.
The ambitious $4 million fund-raising initiative has already received $2.7 million which will help acquire the property, and make the necessary improvements and enhancements. A $1.5 million operating endowment will support long-term maintenance and sustainability of the Basile Opera Center campus.
