Children’s Museum Transitions to New Leadership

Jeffrey Patchen and Jennifer Pace Robinson

Following the planned retirement of Jeffrey H. Patchen, his longtime associate Jennifer Pace Robinson has been named president and CEO of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Pace Robinson joined the museum staff in 1992 and moved up in the ranks from exhibit manager and educator to curator and director of exhibits. In 2006, she became vice president of Experience Development and Family Learning.

During Patchen’s 21 years leading the museum, it expanded three times, launched several major educational exhibits and received national recognition and awards.  When Patchen began considering retirement two years ago, Pace Robinson quickly became the prime candidate to replace him. The museum’s board of trustees has been involved in planning for the transition during that time and unanimously approved Pace Robinson as his successor.

Pace Robinson said she is committed to working to elevate under-heard voices while fostering an authentic, inclusive and equitable work environment with the staff and volunteers of the museum, the surrounding neighborhood, the broader community, and partners from around the world to amplify the Museum’s impact.
