March 5, Shelton Auditorium, Christian Theological Seminary, 1000 W 42nd St., 7-9 p.m.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment to the Constitution which extended the right to vote to women. Dr. Sally Perkins will offer a dramatic presentation of Digging in Their Heels: An Energized, Eye-Opening Story of Women’s Battle for the Vote.
Afterwards, a discussion titled “Working With and Against Theology & the Church,” will encourage participants to talk about the conflicting roles of theology and the church in the suffrage movement – past and present.
The event is free and open to the public. Learn more about the performance here.
