Stuff too much trash or debris in your trash cart and you run the risk of not having the bin picked up, according to Ben Easley, Indianapolis Depart of Public Works chief communications officer. “If a cart is overloaded such that the top will not close, it is left to the discretion of the hauler whether the cart can be serviced,” he said. “This is due to the real possibility of spilling litter into the alleyway or street around the pick-up site during service, which neither the homeowner wants for their neighborhood nor DPW wants for our city.”
