Dinosaurs are back in a big way at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ NEW Dinosphere®: Now You’re in Their World. After a year of renovations, the museum’s most-visited exhibit has been revamped and augmented so visitors can fully immerse themselves in the experience.
This sprawling exhibit has three segments:
Giants of the Jurassic™ features real fossils of two giant sauropods (65-80 feet long) and casts of their footpaths.
Monsters of the Mesozoic Seas™ explores the sights and sounds of the ancient ocean.
Creatures of the Cretaceous™ let’s visitors spend a day in their world as recreated with a new sound and light show in the former Cinedome.
Additions to the exhibit include the Paleo Prep Labs, a hands-on chance for visitors to touch real fossils from the museum’s dig site in Wyoming; and a Paleo Art Lab that displays a variety of dinosaur art and offers families a chance to create their own art.
Advance tickets are encouraged for all visitors—including members, donors, and Access Pass holders. The museum’s total daily admissions are currently limited to approximately 75% of the building’s capacity. Masking for visitors is optional.
Another sign Spring is the opening of the 7.5 acre Riley Sports Legends Experience®. Families can get fit as they run, jump, kick, shoot, swing, putt, pass, catch, and race in the outdoor areas that feature a dozen different sports experiences.
